FINISHING IT OFF WITH FELT

All the corners and specials curbs of our van, we finished off with felt to give it a nice clean and cosy feel. We opted for a cream colour of felt to complement with the poplar plywood. We first put down a layer of Armaflex insulation (6 mm), and on top of that we glued the felt. With the Armaflex insulation we left open a super little gap, so that we could glue the felt directly on the metal of our van. For glue we used transparant silicone glue (especially for the corners and between the rubbers of our van), in combination with spray glue on top of the Armaflex insulation. We also used extra lines and patches of the silicone glue on top of the Armaflex insulation for better attachment.  Keep in mind the rubbers (especially the ones on the rear cargo doors) are there for water resistance, so make sure the rubber makes contact with the metal of your van, not with the felt, otherwise there is a possiblity of water infiltration.

The felt has a little stretch to it, so it can be manipulated over the curbs.

Bare in mind it is a painstaking process and can take up quite some time, and a bit of your patience :)
