Cycling through the High Atlas

  Winding road through the High Atlas

Cycling through the mountains of the High Atlas! Winding roads through an absolute magnificent landscape, small villages with the most friendly people, the occasional Salaam! of nomads herding on the slopes. Our first stretch of the High Atlas from Imilchil to Msemrir, leading us over the Col du Ouano (2906m) made us fall in love immediately.

Melting away under the burning sun in the Sahara

We went in June. It was hot! Even too hot to cycle. We decided to visit Erg Chigaga on a two day tour with a guide instead of cycling our self. But before we went on the tour we luckily did cycle through the Draa valley from kasbah to kasbah, all the way to Nkob. It was beautiful! However, because of the heat we decided to rent a car for a few days to get us out of the Draa Valley. But what an experience! We never felt a heat like this or seen such a landscape.

Cycling and hiking in the Dadès Gorge

How much fun did we have cycling this hairpin road into the Dadès Gorge! Going down, that is. Cycling up seems like a far less attractive idea. :) There are even some bouldering opportunities when hiking in the gorge.

Beach vibes in Sidi Ifni, Taghazout, Essaouira, Oualidia and El Jadida

We cycled on the coast from Sidi Ifni to Casablanca. We took surf lessons in Taghazout and rented boards in Essaouira. So much fun! However no pictures or videos... yet :). Maybe after some more practice ;).
